JAAI Annual General Body Meeting 2009

The Annual General Body Meeting of JICA Alumni Association (JAAI) for the period 2008-09 was held on 31st January 2009 at India Habitat Centre, Lodi Road, New Delhi- 110003. Fifty seven members attended the AGM.

Mr. T.P.S. Oberoi, Joint Secretary, JAAI delivered the welcome speech. Mr. R.K.J aiswal, Secretary, JAAI, thanked JICA India Office for timely release of the budget for the current year and in his report, he gave details of the JAAI activities organized during the current financial year. He also informed that the JAAI Convention 2009 will be held on 14th March 2009 at the Ashok hotel. Mr. B.C. Nayak, Treasurer, presented to the House the accounts for the year 2007-08 and statement of estimates for the year 2008-09. The House unanimously adopted the accounts for the year 2007-08. The President, Mr. Zakaria Khan Yusufzai, apprised the members about recent developments to establish JICA Alumni Association Forum for SAARC Countries. He also briefed the House on working of JAAI in general and outlined the guidance for future course of action.

The House discussed and approved that the Annual Membership fee will be increased from Rs.50/- to Rs.100/- w.e.f. 1.4.2009 and Life Membership fee will be increased from Rs.500/- to Rs.1000/- w.e.f. 1.4.2009. It was also decided to increase the guest charges for the JAAI Convention to Rs. 2000/- per person.
